Simplified Swatch Creation

We've improved the workflow for you to create a Swatch from a built-in Color Book or manually add the Swatch information:

Where will you see this improvement?

  1. Click on the green +New Swatch icon on the left side of the navigation bar.
  2. There are still two ways to create swatches, either by sourcing from a built-in Color Book or creating a Custom swatch.
  3. Let's start with sourcing from a built-in Color Book swatch:
    1. You can search by all Color Books or pull directly from a specific Color Book.
    2. Once you have determined the Pantone, click Update Source.
    3. You still have the ability to assign or update specific attributes such as the name, custom code, internal, external codes to this color. Note: if you overwrite all the attributes you will still always be able to query by the Pantone name or code
    4. In the Palettes section, assign the Swatch to any applicable Palettes.
    5. If you add the Swatch while you are in a Palette, it will automatically default to add the Swatch to the Palette you are working on
  4. Next, let's walk through creating a Custom Swatch:
    1. This flow is pretty much identical to how you previously created a Custom Swatch.
    2. Add a Name or Code(s)
    3. Add an Image
    4. Assign the Swatch to any applicable Palette(s)
